Hello Guys!
I love spring! All the pretty flowers in bloom, and the fresh bright green grass,
make me want to have a picnic everyday! Rollie, Scruffy and I have plans to have
a picnic every Saturday until summer; we will bring something different to share
every time. My friends are the best!
Is there anything you like to do, as much as I like picnics? I would love to hear
from you and learn how you make the best of this beautiful season! Write me a letter
telling me about all your favorite spring or summer activities and I might have my
friends at the Credit Union print them on our next newsletter OR even publish them
online at our SBB Club Website. Imagine having your letter published! That would be so
cool!
And I've got a better idea! If my friends at YOUR Federal Credit Union choose your letter
to print it on our next issue, I will send you a gift to thank you for your help!

FUN ACTIVITIES:
VOLCANO ERUPTION

What happens: "Lava" will erupt from the top of your mini-volcano.
What you need: Modeling clay, 1 table spoon of baking soda, red food
coloring, liquid dishwashing soap, ¼ cup of vinegar, 1 adult.
How to do it: Set up a work area with newspaper, or have a surface that
can get wet. This project can get messy!
Model your volcano out of brown and green modeling clay. You can use red clay around
the rim of the volcano to make it look like flowing red-hot lava. Scoop out a hole at
the top of the volcano and stir in 1 tablespoon of baking soda, a few drops of red food
coloring, and a few drops of liquid dishwashing detergent.
When you're ready for the volcano to erupt, pour in 1/4 cup of vinegar
and stand back! Watch as your volcano erupts crazy lava and impress your friends
by showing them what a great scientist you've become.
